I can't say I've noticed a decline. Cheap, bulk switches have been crappy since the 1970s - especially Decora switches, which seem to come out of the box defective about 10% of the time. What do you expect for 72 cents each? https://ift.tt/2VMbP3P Actually, I'm amazed that they can produce something like that (in the USA, no less) for that price and have it work as well as it does.
